Cloughjordan ‘B’ and Gurtagarry will go head to head in this re-fixed Third Division Cup Final on this Saturday evening in Ballinree in what should be a well contested affair. League form suggests that Cloughjordan sitting at the top of the table awaiting a play-off against Roscrea United ‘B’ for the League title will enter the fray as warm favourites, Dean O’Meara and Andy Brennan are the main target men for the Tom Killackey managed side and will prove a real handful for the Gurtagarry rearguard. Cloughjordan have a blend of experience and youth in their side with big performances expected from Brian Finnerty, Niall Farrell and Ruan Casey but Donal Costello is injured and rated doubtful. A resilient Gurtagarry outfit will be well up for the decider having claimed the 2009/2010 Fast Food Cup title with a hard earned one nil win over Shannon Rangers in the Final and will be more than anxious to get their hands on the Cup for a second time. Tom Hassett has missed recent games with a hamstring injury and is unlikely to play for the Seamus Farrell sponsored Gurtagarry side. Team manager John Moyles may also be missing some key players due to other sporting commitments but will be expecting ace displays from Paddy O’Rourke, Conor Maxwell and top scorer Billy Corcoran if Gurtagarry are to be in the winner’s enclosure on Saturday evening. It will take a mammoth effort from Gurtagarry if they are to add their second Cup title to their roll of honour, however Cloughjordan might just have too much strength in depth on this occasion. Jimmy McCarthy takes charge of proceedings and will be assisted by Ger Roche and Tony Canning, kick off time is 6:30PM
