FAI Youths Cup Semi-Final
Nenagh AFC Youths welcomed Waterford side Villa FC to a resplendent Brickfields venue last Saturday for this FAI Umbro Youths Cup semi-final fixture and secured their place in the Final with a resounding four nil win. Nenagh AFC hit the front on the 10 minute mark when Cian Darcy rifled to the roof of the net. Ryan Gilmartin made it two nil from the spot on the half hour mark. The NT&DL side kept the pressure on in the second period and stretched it to three with a cracking volleyed effort from Jordan Lewis. Nenagh AC remained on the offensive and made it to four late on when Ben Banaghan finished with a first time effort from just inside the box to copper fasten the win and a place in the decider.

Barry Cup Final
Roscrea United ‘A’ romped to a Barry Cup victory with a three nil win over Borroway Rovers at Thurles Greyhound Stadium last Sunday. The opener came in the 6th minute after Paul Kirwan knocked to the net from close range. The Thurles side were left with an uphill battle when Roscrea doubled their tally four minutes in to the second period with Paul Kirwan leaping highest to head home despite the best efforts of the Borroway net-minder. It was game, set and match on 64 minutes when Paul Kirwan followed through to dink over the line completing his hat-trick with aplomb in the process. NT&DL Chairman Mike Young presented the Barry Cup to Roscrea United captain John Pio Fitzpatrick and vice-captain David Nash.

NT&DL Tipperary Cup
Nenagh Celtic ‘A’ progressed to the semi-finals of the Tipperary Cup with a three nil win over Streamstown Celtic. The Hoops enjoyed a one nil lead at midway stage thanks to a Mark Walsh strike. Streamstown put it up to the Premier Division side for long spells, however Mark Walsh made it two nil with twenty minutes to go, Sean Healy sealed the win for the visiting side late on with a well taken goal.

Ricky Fogarty Cup
Nenagh AFC advanced to the last four of the Premier Division Cup with a two nil win over Cloughjordan in Nenagh last Sunday, Danny Butler gave the Brickfields side the lead on the 25 minute mark with a fine left footed shot, Brian Quinn made it two nil back on the hour mark with a superb effort to leave no way back for Cloughjordan on this occasion.

Third Division League
League leaders Roscrea United ‘B’ had to battle all the way to record a narrow 2-1 win over Lough Derg ‘B’ at the Kennedy Park venue on Sunday morning. Stephen Murphy and Martin Harty scored the Roscrea goals while the Lough Derg response came from Mark McInerney.

Gurtagarry secured maximum points with a 5-1 result against Noreside Celtic last Sunday with all goals coming in an action packed second half. Gurtagarry piled on the pressure after the resumption netting four in the open twenty five minutes through Ronnie Kinnane, Billy Corcoran and a brace from Paddy O’Rourke. Noreside pulled one back when David Hewston found the target, Billy Corcoran wrapped it up for the home team with four minutes remaining on the clock.

Cloughjordan ‘B’ were 6-3 victors over Clodiagh Rangers ‘C’ in this Third Division league tie played in Cloughjordan, a double hit from Andy Brennan gave the home team a two nil lead at the break. Cloughjordan pounced for four in the second half including a cracking effort from Jack Farrell. Dean O’Meara added two more before James Feighery completed the rout for the hosts, Dave Williams in the Cloughjordan goals also saved from the post. David Considine bagged a brace for Clodiagh Rangers while James Coffey was also on target.

Youths League
BT Harps Youths had too much firepower for Lough Derg Youths last Saturday in Clarisford Park on an eight goals to two score line. Eric Quinlan helped himself to four while Joe Kennedy, Dylan Loughnane, Jordan Moloney and Eoin Brophy were also on the scoresheet for the Templemore side. Jamie Stuart and Lowell Ryan scored for Lough Derg.
